Technologies have been bound the entire islands of the
world. The world is full of the benefits
of technology. Therefore, we are
sometimes depending on technology so much. But though technologies exist, the
culture and traditions of Ilocano’s were then preserved by our ancestors and
will be preserving by the next generations.
Ilocano’s were known
as “kuripot”. Ilocano’s strive hard to make a living; difficulty is never a
hindrance of their success. To and Ilocano, hardships can easily overcome. He
believes in the value of study, industry and patience; thus, every Ilocano
family encourages the children to go to school and learn skills to find better
paying jobs and consequently better life.
Kannawidan Festival is the showcase of Ilocano’s cultures
and traditions where we can observe and discover. Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is
Ilocos Sur’s week-long festivity which is celebrated not only by the locals but
also foreign tourists. The main aim of the festival is to exhibit and promote
the products and precious culture of Ilocano’s. This annual event seeks to make
people aware of rich Ilocano culture and traditions and practices so that they
would be preserved.
